I want to apologize for arguing so incessantly about Peter Bourjos yesterday. I took it too far. Now that I read over it, it was all kind of silly.

Sometimes I get that way because I am so frustrated about the situation. I love watching Bourjos play, I love watching him run and play defense. I have watched him as much as I could ever since he started playing for the Angels. These last two seasons have been miserable, because I have been consistently denied watching him play, and it is even worse this year than last year. This is why I am so adamant about him being freed from playing for the Cardinals because I know nothing is ever going to change about the situation. I also worry that his skills are being eroded.

Realistically I know he is stuck here for the remainder of the season, but I don’t have to like it.

Who knows? Maybe he will make the key play in a big game in October.

I doubt he even plays in October. It wouldn’t surprise me if he is left off the playoff roster.

I mean think about it. You only have 25 spots. Assuming 4 SP and 7 RP that leaves 12 position players.
If both Jay and Holliday are available that severely limits your OF spots. Grichuk and Heyward are automatic, if Holliday is available so is he. Then you have Marp, Peralta, Wong, 1B (Adams if he is healthy, or one of Reynolds, Moss or even Piscotty) and Molina. That leaves 6 extra spots. You know Matheny is going to include Kozma and Cruz for back up. That leaves 4 spots. The list is Jay, Pham, Piscotty/Moss/Reynolds, Garcia? and Bourjos. My guess is Matheny is going to want Jay and Piscotty, so the last two are Moss, Reynolds Bourjos, Pham. I can very easily see Matheny preferring two of Moss, Reynolds and Pham, over Bourjos. You could get three of those if you go with only 6 RP, but then I see Matheny preferring Moss, Reynolds and Pham over Bourjos.

Its not like the decision is between Bourjos and Ruth.
