Brian Walton's news and commentary on the St. Louis Cardinals (TM) and their minor league system

Catching Up with The Cardinal Nation Blog

So, I know it has been pretty quiet here at the blog recently. In 2015, I took the opportunity for a number of early-season trips and since spring training, I have seen series played by three of the St. Louis Cardinals’ full-season clubs – Memphis, Palm Beach and Peoria – plus a visit to extended spring training camp, too.

As a result, I have been on the road three of the last four weeks and will head back out again starting next week for two of the three weeks remaining before the 2015 First-Year Player Draft. When I am traveling, time is especially tight and unfortunately, the blog suffers when I am not plugged in as much.

Not to worry, though. The roster matrix remains current, with rosters from all levels of the Cardinals system by position, and including every transaction all year long.

Here are just my most recent articles – 15 in the last 10 days alone. They are The Cardinal Nation-member only unless denoted as (free):

Jupiter is a topic rich environment. Can Garcia, Grichuk, and Pham return, to save the day in the nick of time?

Alex Reyes is off to an astoundingly good beginning to 2015.

    • Brian Walton says:

All the strikeouts are generating the headlines, but Reyes’ April walk rate was a very high 5.8 per nine. I will be watching to see if he can sustain his lower May walk rate for another month to six weeks.
