Brian Walton's news and commentary on the St. Louis Cardinals (TM) and their minor league system

FOX Sports 1670 Radio: The Heyward-Miller Trade

St. Louis Cardinals-Atlanta Braves trade talk on FOX Sports 1670 Radio in Macon, Georgia.

Following Monday’s big trade between the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves, I joined afternoon host Bill Shanks on FOX Sports Radio 1670 in Macon, Georgia.

While the main discussion was on four-way trade principals Jason Heyward and Shelby Miller, we also discussed Jordan Walden and Tyrell Jenkins.

Make sure you catch “The Bill Shanks Show” each weekday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Macon’s sports station, FOX Sports 1670. Bill also serves as my counterpart, running the Scout.com site covering the Braves, Atlanta Dugout. Here is the link to Bill’s written take on the trade as well as a longer solo audio segment.

I wonder if Descalso and Greenwood will be next to go?Also wonder about Scruggs,Tony Cruz and Choate. Will Scruggs get a chance at RH bench bat……………………..Ithink Mo gets a veteran.Tony Cruz ………………his fill-in play was disappointing last year (Cards pcked up AJ ).He might keep his job over the AAA veteran Easley and Cody Stanley.Choate………….I think his days are numbered.I think Cards sign a couple low cost veterans and a couple minor league FAs.
