Cardinals organization roster matrix: 2014-2015 off-season

NOTE: As of 3/9/15, this version of the roster matrix is no longer current. It reflects the changes from the end of the 2014 regular season until the start of 2015 spring training. It should now be considered a historical reference document. For the active roster matrix for 2015 spring training, click here.

With the 2014 World Series complete and players considering free agency, it is time for another refresh of the St. Louis Cardinals system roster matrix. This version will reflect the changes made from the conclusion of the 2014 post-season until the start of spring training 2015. The previous matrix reflects the rosters from the start of short-season ball in mid-June through the 2014 post-season.

If you are new to the blog and not familiar with the Cardinals organization roster matrix, here is quick summary:

As free agency began, the St. Louis Cardinals had 281 players under contract from top to bottom, including 39 players on the 40-man roster. The latter are called out in bold. The matrix places all of them at their assigned level in the system as well as by position and is kept updated daily or as transactions occur.

Both major league and minor league free agents will be included with their new destinations tracked and reported. Neither group is included in the Cardinals organization totals.

Nowhere else will you find this current and comprehensive single-page view of the entire Cardinals organization, including all transactions.

Don’t be concerned about the order of the players’ names within a team. It has no relative significance.

Thanks Brian. New Matrix Day should be a holiday. As I have previously noted, I make regular use of the chronological listing of transactions sometimes going back several years. Its all still there.

One thing that seems to stand out is the ML outfield is kinda weak. Need a big stick.

  2. […] Roster Matrix right here and the St. Louis Cardinals 2015 roster on the main site, The Cardinal Nation, are fully up to […]
