MLB on FOX national schedule includes 10 Cardinals games

Earlier, ESPN announced part of its 2014 Major League Baseball national telecast schedule. The docket as it relates to the St. Louis Cardinals includes seven games, three of which will be shared with FOX Sports Midwest.

On Thursday, FOX Sports made its announcement, including the first-ever games on the FOX Sports 1 network. 10 Cardinals games are among them, as follows, with seven on FS1 and the other three on the main FOX Network.

When the earlier-announced game times have changed, they have been noted.

Four of the seven FOX Sports 1 games will also be shown on FOX Sports Midwest. In addition, the FS1 games will be shown across the nation, including in the local markets. The other six of the 10 will not be carried by FS Midwest.

For the FOX national games this year, there is a slight loosening of national blackouts. MLB Extra Innings and MLB.TV subscribers will be able to view the other simultaneous Saturday MLB on FOX games not normally shown in your territory. This will affect May 24, June 14 and June 28 for Cardinals viewers. Details here.

Here is the 2014 Cardinals’ 162-game coverage summarized:

Oh that’s just great. I don’t get Fox Sports 1. Mediacom decided to charge extra for it. Bastards.

    • Brian Walton says:

It should only cost you three games, but I understand the dissatisfaction.

I assume I will be blacked out on MLB.TV for those 3 games.

Mediacom is the only cable service I can get. Dish and Direct TV are forbidden by my landlord because they don’t want the dishes on the property.

What is so aggravating is that my brother has Mediacom 30 miles away in Columbia and he gets FS1. That just shows how arbitrary and capricious Mediacom is. I have to buy a whole other sport package to get FS1 while my brother 30 miles up the highway, doesn’t.

I guess I can ask my brother if I can come up there and watch those 3 games with him. Grrrrrr.

  2. [...] As highlighted the other day, Fox Sports 1 will be televising regular season Major League Baseball games for the first time in 2014. That includes seven St. Louis Cardinals broadcasts. (Full details here.) [...]
