While much of the St. Louis Cardinals spring television schedule has been announced, several opponents still have yet to disclose their plans. Among the Grapefruit League telecasts already on the schedule are two national games on ESPN, on March 17 (at the Red Sox) and March 26 (vs. Washington).
On top of that, the self-proclaimed “Worldwide Leader” has disclosed national broadcast plans for parts of the 2014 Major League Baseball regular season. The Cardinals will be featured an additional five times – three on Sunday nights and two on Monday afternoons.
Both of the Monday games are on “holidays”. The first, on March 31, is the traditional MLB opener from Cincinnati. That game will also be on FOX Sports Midwest. The other, from Busch Stadium against the Yankees on May 26, is Memorial Day.
Expect additional national broadcasts this spring and in the regular season from MLB Network, TBS and FOX Network.
January 16 update: Make it eight. The Cardinals game at Wrigley Field on May 4 is also on the schedule. That will be the first of St. Louis’ four national telecasts on ESPN in May alone.
