First partial view of 2014 Cardinals spring training schedule

The last of the Major League Baseball awards for 2013 have been announced, celebrated and debated. As the Arizona Fall League has come to its close, winter ball will be the only live baseball activity to keep us going until spring.

The good news is that spring, as defined by players reporting to camp, is just three months away. A couple of weeks later, official spring training games for 2014 will begin.

Though the St. Louis Cardinals have not yet released their spring schedule, several other clubs have. As a result, and with the help of and other sources, I can share part of St. Louis’ Florida schedule and an exhibition game in Memphis. St. Louis opens the 2014 regular season in Cincinnati on Monday, March 31.

Pitcher and catcher report day is the official start of spring for me. I’ll be circling it on my calander as soon as it is known.

Rotoworld says Cards sign AAA FA Catcher Ed Easley R/R 6`0 205 27 yrs old .
Also Nick Additon LHp signed with Baltimore as a AAA FA

  3. Bw52 says:

Easley might have been a fluky year but he`s still a career 260`s hitter and plays good defense. That a hell of lot better than Aubry Perez .Veteran AAA guy who is insurance for Tony Cruz and Yadi.I like both the Cards minor FA signings and hope Cards pick up some more.

Last winter, we signed two catchers to AAA contracts, Johnson and JR Towles, each now moved on. We could potentially add a second.
