Cardinal Talk: KXnO FOX Sports Radio: Bucs just ahead (again)

Weekly St. Louis Cardinals-focused chat on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines.

Late Friday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and Jim Brinson on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines in our weekly series to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals, “Cardinal Talk.” This time, we focused on the second weekend series against Pittsburgh in two weeks as well as the NL Central race with the Bucs and Reds, which remains very tight.

Cardinals followers in central Iowa can again catch St. Louis Cardinals radio broadcasts on KXnO as well as my regular segment each week throughout the season, either over the air or via streaming. Or, if you miss it live, you can always catch the replay right here at The Cardinal Nation blog.

So, Waino thinks he has discovered that he was tipping his pitches. I hope he is right and that he pitches a good game tonight. I don’t think my nerves can take another meltdown, not to mention all the crap that will be spewed about him by fans if it doesn’t go well.

We seem in pretty good shape, looking forward.
Allen Craig is on the shelf, but there is Matt Adams to step in.
Wacha and Kelly are helping the rotation and it would be nice to give Lyons another start. Old Westbrook can pitch in relief when we are 10 runs ahead.
Super Pete broke an 0 for 32 streak last night with an RBI. Now we have moved into September, its Pete time.
The farce of burying Ryan Jackson has ended and he can get some ABs against LHPs, good.
If we do not make the playoffs, it will be very surprising.
We should be able to take the division crown, with decent luck and effort.
Good for Matheny to give Molina, Beltran, and Wainwright plenty of rest, so they have something left in the tank for the playoffs.
