St. Louis Cardinals minor league-focused chat on 101 ESPN Radio in St. Louis

Early Wednesday evening, I joined host Brian Stull on STL Baseball Tonight on 101 ESPN Radio in St. Louis to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals’ minor league season. We covered a number of standout players including emerging prospects that we may be seeing in St. Louis in 2014 and beyond, including several of those reporting to the Arizona Fall League next month.

Make sure you catch The Brian Stull Show weeknights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on St. Louis’ sports station, 101 ESPN. Follow Brian Stull on Twitter, @StullySTL.

Enjoyed the audio, Brian. Sadly, I agree with you on Jackson.

With Chote making $3M per for the next two years, it sounds like we have a bit a jam forming up on the left side of the pen. There is Siegrist of course, and then there is Freeman and it sounds like Stoppelman will be knocking on the door at some point next year. Then there are Lyons and Gast to do something with, depending on Garcia’s health.

I will have to pay more attention to Llorens and Tuivailala. Do you anticipate both of them starting off at PB next year?

    • Brian Walton says:

      Thanks for the comments.

Yes, I think Llorens is definitely ready for a promotion. Tui’s progress may depend on his health and continued improvement in his secondary pitches.

      • CariocaCardinal says:

No statistical reason Llorens shouldn’t have been at PB for a month now. He had a rough patch after coming back from his injury but after that was lights out and averaged nearly 18K’s per 9 innings for an extended stretch.

Okay, so they didn’t call up Greg Garcia because they didn’t want to use the 40 man spot, but they used it for Audry Perez? ‘ Splain please, because how does Perez have a future with the big club such that he deserves a 40 man spot?
