Cardinals to be featured nationally 15 times during August

As the month of August opens, the national schedules for Major League Baseball telecasts from FOX Network, ESPN, MLB Network and TBS indicate at least 15 St. Louis Cardinals games will be televised. That compares to 14 others which will not be shown on the broader stage.

The 15 include one on FOX and two on ESPN. A dozen will air on MLB Network, including two games during which the Network will provide its own commentary. To date, TBS has only announced the first of its four Sunday afternoon games, on August 4. The Cardinals were not selected.

The 15 contests include four each with Central Division rivals Pittsburgh and Cincinnati plus three each against NL East leader Atlanta and the NL West first-place club from Los Angeles. For good measure, one Cubs game fills the bill.

Of course, blackout restrictions will be in place when applicable. Still, out of market Cardinals fans who do not subscribe to one of the pay MLB packages will surely benefit.

Here is what we have as of now.
