Brian Walton's news and commentary on the St. Louis Cardinals (TM) and their minor league system

Cardinal Talk: KXnO FOX Sports Radio: Redemption?

Weekly St. Louis Cardinals-focused chat on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines.

Late Friday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and Jim Brinson on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines in our regular series to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals, “Cardinal Talk.” This time, we briefly discussed the recently-ended seven-game losing streak and the upcoming Cincinnati road series followed by a four-game set against the Dodgers at Busch Stadium.

Cardinals followers in central Iowa can again catch St. Louis Cardinals radio broadcasts on KXnO as well as my regular segment each week throughout the season, either over the air or via streaming. Or, if you miss it live, you can always catch the replay right here at The Cardinal Nation blog.

The Dodgers altered their rotation so that Kershaw does not pitch Monday against Waino. Instead it will be Greinke.

I was really looking forward to the Waino/Kershaw match up. Damn.

  2. JumboShrimp says:

Good luck to us with Westbrook matched up against an impressive rookie for the Reds. No 13 runs for the Cards tonight.

  3. Bw52 says:

Too many missed chances.Too many K`s.Cingrani is good but Cards had chances to get to him.Lousy ABs with lack of contact in too many situations.Westbrook seems less and less a option for 2014.

  4. JumboShrimp says:

Blazek should be at Memphis. There is no reason for him to be overpromoted. Its not his fault.

Bring up Salas or Sam Freeman.

  5. Bw52 says:

Nice beatdown of the Cincy scumbags.Reds announcers whined and whined about the Cards.Reds broadcaster stopped showing the highlights because it was too much for them to stand.Beat the Reds and then kick them in the teeth.

    Notice the Biogenesis suspension list is out with several prominent names on teams in pennant races;
    Nelson Cruz Texas
    ARoid NYY
    Francisco Cervalli NYY
    Jhonny Peralta SS Tigers

    Everts Cabrera SS SD
    Jesus Montero C Seattle

several others not suspended now because they have served 50-game suspension
    Melky Cabtrera OF
    Bartolo Colon P Oak

Seems the players getting nailed are mostly latin players.Wonder if they got bad advice or just figured they could beat the system?

I heard somewhere that Biogenesis was heavily ‘connected’ with the latin athlete set in the Miami area.

    • JumboShrimp says:

They DID beat the testing system.

These players only got in trouble because the Biogenesis clown had a falling out with one of his investors, who ratted him out. Then this guy ratted out the players.

If players want some helpful molecules, they should seek help from discreet sources, outside the United States. Biogenesis was in a high profile location, right outside the University of Miami stadium. The name Biogenesis sounds crazy, like the Fountain of Youth.

Better to get low profile, low ego, discreet suppliers. Use trusted low profile intermediaries, like a cousin with a clean reputation, so the suppliers do not even know who the athlete is.

Don’t worry baseball fans. Smart players will get this figured out. A-Rod and Ryan Braun are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
