The contest

The fourth winner of the 2011 World Series Game 6 discs will be the first to correctly answer the St. Louis Cardinals-related trivia question in the comments section below. (Only one entry per person per contest allowed. Previous winners are ineligible. US and Canada residents only, please.)

This question was provided by researcher Tom Orf.

Since World War II, only one Cardinal had over 20 sacrifices in a season and he did it twice. Who is he?

If you do not win this time, never fear. There will be one more new contest between now and July 31, so check back here at The Cardinal Nation Blog, follow me on Twitter and check The Cardinal Nation message board regularly for announcements.

    Ted Sizemore.

    Ted Sizemore

  3. Brian Walton says:

Yes, Ted Sizemore is correct. Michael D. was first and is the winner this time.

A solid no. 2 hitter, Sizemore had 25 sacrifices in 1973 and 21 two years later.

Another crappy performance.Team sets season high for losing streak with 4th loss.No pitching.Absolute crap across the board.

I was impressed with McCutcheon racing in and making a sliding catch in a 9-1 game.

Robinson looked pretty good, so he’ll sit tomorrow, of course.

At least maybe Adams will get the start vs the righty. Not that he has much of a split.

Stltoday quoting Jim Bowden of ESPN, re Albert’s injury:

“If there was any doubt about the Angels being ‘sellers’ before, it has been removed. Problem is, they have nothing to sell.”

  6. Bw52 says:

Scrabble traded to Indians for low level prospect per Goold.

Another noodle bat exhibition so far today. Can`t anybody get a freaking clutch hit?Holliday flat out stinks right now.Allen Craig can`t hit the broad side of a barn now.Total crap.

At least we hit a few line drives, right at people. Watched a lot of first pitch strikes right down broadway, then swung at stinkers. Guys are swinging over curves and at sliders that slide out of the zone like they’ve never seen a breaking ball before.

Maybe Mo will shuffle the pen some more.

  8. Bw52 says:

The Cards flat out stink.A big steamy pile of crap.Absolute garbage.Trade every damn one of and promote the AAA team.At least they seem to care.

  9. Bw52 says:

Pure crap.Total stinking lousy freaking excuse for a day of baseball.Trade the whole freaking bunch of them.Been a long time since such a inept day of baseball was played by a So-called major league team.
