The good news is that the Cards will be on at least seven times during the month.
The bad news is that five of them will be during just two series – two of the three in the home set against the Cubs mid-month and the entire series in Atlanta near month-end.
Further, most of these broadcasts will be clumped with five of them during the final seven days of the month.
Saturday, July 13 (7 p.m. ET) – FOX Network – Cardinals vs. Cubs
This is one of five regional games, so blackouts could be an issue for out-of-market fans.
Sunday, July 14 (8 p.m. ET) – ESPN – Cardinals vs. Cubs
National prime time game.
Thursday, July 25 (7 p.m. ET) – MLB Network – Phillies at Cardinals
One of two national games. Also on FOX Sports Midwest as usual.
Friday, July 26 (7:30 p.m. ET) – MLB Network – Cardinals at Braves
In this national broadcast, Matt Vasgersian, John Smoltz will be on the call. Also on FOX Sports Midwest as usual.
Saturday, July 27 (2:30 p.m. ET) – FOX Network – Cardinals at Braves
This is one of three regional games, so blackouts could again be an issue for out-of-market fans.
Sunday, July 28 (8 p.m. ET) – ESPN – Cardinals at Braves
National prime time game. This is a recent change from an afternoon start.
Tuesday, July 30 (4 p.m. ET) – MLB Network – Cardinals at Pirates (game one)
Likely the Bucs home broadcast will be carried nationally, except in St. Louis and Pittsburgh home markets. There will be a second game that night, which is a make up of the April 16 postponed game. Both will be on FOX Sports Midwest.
TBS has yet to announce its full Sunday afternoon slate of games in July, with just the first two weeks identified. Since ESPN already has two Cardinals Sundays, the only remaining possibilities for St. Louis would be two lower-interest opponents at home: July 7 versus the Miami Marlins and July 21 against the San Diego Padres. The former game was not picked up by TBS and the latter will likely not be, either.
July 19 update: ESPN has added the final game of the month to its national schedule. That makes eight national games for the Cardinals in July, including six of their last eight.
Wednesday, July 31 (7 p.m. ET) – ESPN – Cardinals at Pirates
Though it is the first game in August, since it completes the Pittsburgh series, I will note here that game will be on MLB Network, as well.
Thursday, August 1 (7 p.m. ET) – MLB Network – Cardinals at Pirates
This will be an MLB Network-produced telecast, with Matt Vasgersian and Tom Verducci in the booth with Sam Ryan. Also on FOX Sports Midwest as usual.
