Re-checking the St. Louis Cardinals odds

Back in mid-April, I shared the then-current odds for the various Major League Baseball clubs to win their division, take the league pennant and win the World Series.

I thought it would be a good time to check on them again, along with the first manager to be fired odds. The information is courtesy of Bovada.

The tables below are ordered by the current odds (at the right), with the same teams’ earlier odds located in the center columns.

The St. Louis Cardinals’ chances – in the views of the bettors – have improved markedly in the last six or seven weeks. The Cards and Atlanta Braves are currently National League co-favorites, with the Detroit Tigers remaining on top overall.

While the Cincinnati Reds are behind the Cards in the NL and World Series odds, they are even with St. Louis in the NL Central.

I wonder if the Marlins are getting any action at 5000/1?

I like the Cards NL Central odds!

  3. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

Beltran flipped from SB to DL on 11/1/2011…………players know their agents somewhat……SB had done very well for CB……….. he sees the Cards having fun….. hated NY….. was uncomfortable in SF AS THEY WERE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HIM……..wanted the mid west for his family……….. why does he suspect that Boras is not liked in SL…..or visas versa??????????………. why in gods name did he think DL was in good stead with BD ……. considering all the trouble looming over the AP negotiations??????????? let alone overlooking the smear campaign by BHS……………………………..because DL called him and told him so……….. give that some thought….who was shopping…..when they were shopping……and the nature the relationship between DL and BD………..curious……….. but its turned out so well….who cares.

    • WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

Come on gang…………. BD gets what he wants……..pokes SB in the eye…….. on Nov first……… using Danny………….extra million+ over the already lucrative AP services……… because BD knows he gets a free punch….knowing where this was all headed ………. all those AP negotiating meeting had some benefit it seems ……….. I’ll help……… there is some in depth problem solving going on here …….. with a huge conflict of interest for Danny ….. who is weathering the smear campaign …….. doesn’t it even make you want to ask a question??????? what did Jeff Boris bring to the table that allowed DL to walk away……. at the same time precipitating the development of very expensive smear campaign to defend again a counter revelation by DL…………. to be continued……

      • CariocaCardinal says:

It makes me want to ask a question – why do you continue to post this drivel?

        • WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

Couldn’t help but notice that you don’t refute any of the considerations…… A–link or Brian either …….. that’s why you are here isn’t it ………..????????? this is for the folks who are looking for it……….

You remain welcome to comment here, but please do not suggest that my ongoing lack of replies signifies endorsement or agreement – or even understanding many times. I learned it was just better to let it go than try to engage. Too many riddles.

            • WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

Here is one less riddle……………. agents call players all the time ……… if they think they can win an account ………. There are huge reasons why Carlos wouldn’t call DL looking for a way into St. Louis……….. there are zero reasons why DL wouldn’t call Carlos with an offer if he had one to relay….. and it has to be good enough for him to dump SB which is a substantial move for a guy that uses all of said corporations services ………. that’s just a side story…..

          • CariocaCardinal says:

a 100 posts of pure conjecture, rumor, and vivid imagination and they should be refuted with links? PLLEEEAASE.

            • WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

For the readers……………. the joke here is that this topic………… should it have occurred 2 years ago, would have been conjecture…………… 20/20 hindsight in play……with interviews and and statements made by all parties at the time and up until now………reveal all those facts…….

the interesting point??????????? from a guy who ragged on AP daily…………….. give the guy a break….. I’m not a fan………..but stop ragging on the guy……… he was set up from the beginning…… and its not over…………..This is an opinion. If DL excepts the premise that AP is older, in the winter of 2010, before the collision settlement hearings……..when he was approached by Jeff Boris, Barry B’s agent,,,looking for some sugar and support for Barry in exchange at the up coming meetings,,,, seriously compromising AP negotiating posture, he might have been a Cardinal still……… from that point on……he was the property of MLB and Fox……..but that’s a side story now……all of that was revealed (except for the collusion settlement numbers)………the point is, the Ace in the hole is still in play……… at this point, if AP goes down……Danny loses a bundle……… BD knows that, Danny knows that……..Carlos know that????????? Beltran makes the AS team…..but he isn’t going to be playing here in 2014…….. what intrigues await??????????
