Along with St. Louis Cardinals radio announcer John Rooney, I was honored to be one of the guests on KOLR-TV in Springfield, Missouri to discuss the legacy of Stan Musial. We were part of the 30-minute weekly sports show called “Ozarks Saturday/Sunday,” hosted by Nick Carboni.
“The Man” holds a special place in Springfield history, as he played in the outfield there during his rapid ascension to the major leagues in the summer of 1941.
Ironically, when the show aired in Springfield Sunday night, I was among the many enjoying Rooney as he expertly emceed the 55th annual Baseball Writers’ Award Dinner in St. Louis. For those interested, KMOX Radio has posted selected highlights of the evening’s proceedings.
Here is the audio of my spot, courtesy of Carboni and KOLR-TV.

BDW III talked like any such thing was not all that likely for the Cardinals when asked at WWU.
Yep. Of course a lot can change in five years.
