St. Louis Cardinals weekly chat on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines.
Late Friday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and Jim Brinson on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines in another installment of this year’s series to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals, “Cardinal Talk.” The Cardinals bullpen has been exposed as the club has logged a losing record so far in May.
Cardinals followers in central Iowa can again catch Cardinals radio broadcasts on KXnO as well as my segment each Friday afternoon throughout the season, either over the air or via streaming. My appearances are sponsored by WCI Pools and Spas.

He did it. Albert just cranked #7 and is now hitting .230
6 HRs in his last 11 games
Adams got down to first pretty good to beat out the infield hit. Then, for whatever reason was not running full speed toward second on the hit and run. He speeded up noticably once the SS fielded it and headed toward the bag. Then he failed to slide to the left side of the bag so as to give the fielder something else to think about. Easy DP. Poor effort, poor execution.
This team is dismal right now.
A lineup without Craig, Jay, Berkman, MCarpenter, Furcal, and Molina does not have enough left to derail Kendrick. Ugh.
I just got back to the hotel from the Memphis game. Nothing to write home about. Cox got a HR and a double. There was a nifty play where we scored 3 runs on a single because the Cubs catcher couldn’t hold on to the ball at the plate. Shelby gave up two HRs, Nick Greenwood was his usual sucky self, the new guy Zavada wasn’t much better, Freeman gave up a bomb and so did Salas. Ryan Jackson didn’t play so no report on him. I will try to post pictures tomorrow morning before I leave town, but I am not promising anything.
I didn’t check the score on the Cardinals game until after I left Auto Zone. Saw the score and assumed there was major suckage. We stink right now. That is all.
The team that could not touch Kendrick now tangles with Roy Haladay. At least we may get Furcal and Molina back.
Fick is not a lefty, but an improvement over Salas, who needs to regroup at AAA. The ML careers of relief pitchers can be short. Any slippage in performance and teams will replace you, because there are others available eager to take your job. Fick is the son of one of our top scouts and he has worked his way up the system and not been rushed (like Matt Adams because of injuries), so Fick is as ready as he can be.
