Cardinal talk: KXnO FOX Sports Radio: TLR’s time

St. Louis Cardinals weekly chat on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines.

Late Friday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and Jim Brinson on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines in another installment of this year’s series to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals, “Cardinal Talk.” Of course, Friday marked the ceremony to retire Tony La Russa’s number 10.

Cardinals followers in central Iowa can again catch Cardinals radio broadcasts on KXnO as well as my segment each Friday afternoon throughout the season, either over the air or via streaming. My appearances are sponsored by WCI Pools and Spas,

Must have been a fine game last night, two strong teams, using the TLR event for motivation.

    Brilliant output from Carlos Beltran.

Too bad Freese was unable to start against the lefty Minor.

    Back at them again today.

2012 seems a season from Hell for Arte Moreno. The Angels go up against the Rangers last night. C J Wilson cannot get through the first inning, Albert has a batting average of 0.192. This has to be very bad for morale of Angels fans and players. Just how much money does Arte have to shell out to get a winning team?

Make that .195 after today’s Angels win.

According to announcers Josh Hamilton is a triple crown candidate. They had a graphic showing how he’s ahead of Yaz’s pace. He’s also ahead of Bonds’ 73 HR pace. Jeesh.

Last night’s Cards game was a tragic waste of a lot of offense. The inability to somehow generate a run in all those late chances must have been frustrating. As was the leakiness of the pen.

Yadi’s giving up some PBs. The med staff better have a second look. If his thumb is dangling by a thread it could easily have been mistaken for a bruise.

I hope Lance isn’t out playing golf. 🙂

Six innings pitched, 5 Ks, zero walks, 3.00 ERA, 1.0 WHIP for P J Walters as he provides a big improvement for the Twins versus Francisco Liriano who has issued many walks and had an ERA above 9 through his six starts.
    Congratulations to Walters!

Negative minded fans might say: Oh no, we’ve lost two in a row and now we have the bottom of the rotation up, the trade bait guy and the temporary fill in guy, we’re doomed.

But Cincy has also lost two in a row, so no harm done. We have a chance to regain our manhood tonight.

A team with a Cy Young candidate and a triple crown candidate has nothing to worry about.

I haven’t been able to keep up with the Berkman news, but I see he’s not activated yet.
