St. Louis Cardinals Friday chat on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines.
Late Friday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and Jim Brinson on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines in another installment of this year’s series to discuss the St. Louis Cardinals, “Cardinal Talk.” Our focus was a recap of 2012 spring training.
Cardinals followers in central Iowa can again catch Cardinals radio broadcasts on KXnO as well as my segment each Friday afternoon throughout the season, either over the air or via streaming. My appearances are sponsored by WCI Pools and Spas,

Nice to see Matt Carpenter and Shane Robinson collect hits yesterday. Matheny wants inexperienced role players to get involved and gain confidence, hard when a guy spends a lot of time on the bench.
NL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year John Axford and MLB Executive of the Year Doug Melvin (sorry, Jumbo) will be honored at Miller Park prior to today’s game.
Mo does not mind Doug getting a personal consolation prize, since Mo’s team overtook the Brewers and ground their hopes into the dust last October. And then Fielder said goodbye. Plenty for Brewers fans to sob into their beers over this summer.
Too much Greinke today.
My guy Vic Marte is going to need to lift his game.
Wainwright looked pretty good today. That was the positive for the Cards.
Greinke was sharp. When on, he’s tough to beat. Lets rip the lefty tomorrow.
I thought Waino looked good. Hate that he had to take a loss on his first start. Greinke was dealing,
Some people said Waino’s velocity was down. Anybody know if this is true? Should this be a concern?
Tomorrow will be tough too because the Cardinals have always had problems with Wolf.
He was throwing multiple 2 seamers early on….they sat around 89-91, but that’s a 2 seamer for you. His 4 seamer used to hit 93-95? I think.
When he left we was hitting 89 with his 4 seamer.
Pujols update for Bling. (According to sources on Twitter)
He got a hit!
He also GIDP and was thrown out at home plate after blowing through a stop sign at 3B. In other words, business as usual.
Memories…..can be beautiful and yet………..
Appreciate it. I haven’t caught any baseball at all yet and won’t until Monday.
Perusing the LA news it seems Arte is satisfied with the best .140 hitter in baseball. As well he should. The manager and 3rd base coach are talking about how the coach will position himself differently so that Albert will be sure to see him next time. What a hoot. They’ll catch on before long.
While the St. Louis media’s best attention whore is out in Anaheim genuflecting away.

Thanks for sharing your nice thoughts on Easter Sunday.
Big test tomorrow for Lance Lynn. Starting is much harder than relieving, as he has done. Tough to pitch in Milwaukee, too.
Our secret weapons: we will unleash Shane Robinson and Tyler Greene against the southpaw.
Wow, was Shane Robinson ever a weapon! Hopefully he keeps that up so that he is no longer a “secret”! (k.o.w.)
Big Matt likes feasting on AAA pitching.
Good game, Lynn was terrific. Shane Robinson with a 3 run bomb was awesome.
Brian: At three wins vs one loss, we are on track to win 121.5 games! I love this extrapolating!
After four regular season games, Rafael Furcal has the same number of hits, 10, as he logged in his 29 games of spring training.
He’s on pace for a 400 hit season.
No lineup yet that I’ve seen. This will be the first game I’ve been able to watch.
And this is the first game that I am going to miss. I have a photography class tonight and will have to watch it on MLB.TV later. I’m going to keep track of the score on my phone.
Monday lineup:
1. Rafael Furcal, SS
2. Carlos Beltran, RF
3. Matt Holliday, LF
4. Lance Berkman, 1B
5. David Freese, 3B
6. Yadier Molina, C
7. Jon Jay, CF
8. Daniel Descalso, 2B
9. Jake Westbrook, P
