Very interested in winning a world series dvd. I watch my recorded last out over and over. It would be nice to watch the official version to see all the new interviews. It would also be a nice addition to my 2011 world series collection, I have the magazine, shirt, and banner. The movie would make it complete
I’m interested.
this would be a great christmas gift for my mom. definitely interested.
Very Interested!! A World Series Blu-Ray is the only thing I’d like for Christmas!
Good luck to all who have registered so far in the contest. Win or lose, I hope you will stay around to join in the discussions.
I just wanted to clarify that the ten contest winners will be receiving the two-disc set, not the one-disc Blu-ray option, which comes out a bit later, on December 6.
How come you got 10 to give away and I only got 3?
I’d love one to get me through the void.
Interested here too!
Interested
I’m interested!!!!!!
Very Interested. I watch my 2006 dvd at least once a year and I get goose bumps still:)
Very interested!
Also interested. I wonder if Billy Bob is narrating this one, too.
The first sentence of the third paragraph of the post will provide the answer…
Doy. That’s what I get for scrolling too fast. Thanks, Brian.
I like winning things; this would be a wonderful thing to win!
Hey Brian,
I would very much like to enter. I, as well as many others here I’m sure, really appreciate you giving us this opportunity.
Btw, do you know anything about the release of the entire World Series on Blu-Ray or DVD? I think I saw it mentioned somewhere before, but I can’t remember where. If you know where to get it, could you point me in the right direction? I’m sure I can check Amazon. That’ll be the first place I check, I suppose.
Yes, Amazon. Sometime in December, I think.
Count me in ! Thank you so very much kind sir.
Add me to the drawing! I’m always up for some off-season baseball!
Add me to the drawing please, would love to show this to my kids when they’re old enough to appreciate it!
I’m interested. Thanks.
I am extremely interested!!!!
I like my chances to win this thing…just like the CardBirds chances of winning it all last August 25! Has there EVER been a date so often referenced as August 25?! Now there’s an assignment for Mr. Orf.
Count me in, Brian…and I’ll gladly and proudly accept…even if my name is not the very first one drawn! Your spirit of giving is contagious…I think I’ll get something for the wife this year!
I want to win!
I’d love to win a copy!
I enjoy winning things.
Would love to win this spectacular WS DVD set!
Would love a chance to win!

Thanks for the offer!
Sign me up!
Yes, and Thanks!
I would love to give this to my dad for Christmas/birthday present. He missed nearly all of the games due to his work schedule.
I am interested. It would be nice reminder of the Cards run.
My son will be deployment to Afghanistan soon. He was in field training for this deployment and was unable to see any of the World Series games. I would like to give this DVD set to him. He missed Game 6, which I believe is the best baseball game I’ve ever seen. He may be able to take it with him and it would be a awesome reminder of home.

And then it starts to get interesting…………………. this is a professional smear job …….. its the girls camera……..while she is answering her phone……….professional………..but who is taking her picture………with her phone???????????……. Lozano?????? I don’t think so……….
Thanks for the heads up Westy, don’t sit on the furniture. Got it.
Wrong thread.
Thread bare is more like it…………… this is a story no one is touching for legal reasons. There is a direct correlation to the recent conclusion of the union + owners agreement……..the background is in the archives here……..and the perpetrator will also be named there……………AP is not the target…..and I’m guessing BD is sweating an AP front door approach….unforeseen…….just like the WS appearance and win …….. this will get interesting………..
I was listening to Rob Rains radio show this afternoon and he said he contacted the author of the story to get him on the air and the author told him he couldn’t talk about it because of a legal matter, but that he hoped to have the legal matter resolved by next week. Perhaps Lozano filed something in court against him but the only thing that I can think of that could possibly be resolved in a week is some kind of writ. It’s too late for a restraining order so I would be interested in exactly what kind of legal action it is.
Could just be a stall. Adding to his problems by getting pinned down on a radio show is likely not being advised by his lawyer.
On the other side, if you were Lozano, what would you do? I imagine his budget for legal fees is going to increase substantially.
Could be a stall, but then if I was his lawyer I would advise him to keep it open ended, rather than giving a time frame.
We’ll see if next week ever comes…
You know Rob Rains well, do you think he will pursue it?
My guess – and it is only a guess – is that it will depend on whether or not the story develops legs – lawsuits, changes of agents, contract trouble, etc. Or, it might just go away quietly. I mean, who really cares that an agent is an alleged sleazeball?
Maybe that is why you are a lawyer and not a PR person
If I were Lozano, I would hope I could keep Albert believing I was a church going stand up citizen. If that is what he really believes.
Here is what Pujols said to USAToday in September:
Apparently, his book was a bit too open…
Well, either the book wasn’t that open and Albert is lying about knowing all of it, or he did know all of it and doesn’t care. I would imagine some people are going to say that both of those possibilities doesn’t reflect well on Albert. For myself, Albert can do as he pleases, I don’t have the time or inclination to care one way or the other.
Of course there is the option that Lozano really is a good church going stand up citizen.
The Lozano story was on channel 5 news earlier, I mentioned it somewhere else in the thread so thought I’d put it here too.
The blurb on channel 5′s site says they contacted Albert in Hawaii and he doesn’t want to talk about it.
http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/287458/3/Scathing-article-written-about-Pujols-agent
No wonder Pujols dislikes the media. The guy is on vacation with his wife in Hawaii and he is hunted down to comment on a Deadspin article about his agent’s character?
The things one has to put up with for $14M/yr. Count us out, right?
Whether the story has “legs” may depend on what Pujols does now. If he does nothing and just waits for it to go away, I can see the bigger news outlets not wanting to touch it. If Pujols does fire Lozano, then I don’t see how they can avoid covering it, and then I can see it taking off. Being in Hawaii on vacation may be helpful is intention is the former.
If he does nothing, some will say he is enabling the sleazy lifestyle by funding it. That would be hard to dispute, would it not?
Well, the story so far has been confined to one story on a website and the rumblings on places like Twitter and Facebook. If the bigger outlets continue to ignore the story, it could mean people would forget about it and perhaps doubt its veracity altogether. After all, the Deadspin article did not name sources, so who is to say it is all true? Funding what sleazy lifestyle?
So far, I’ve only seen it on Yahoo Sports but I’d guess it will be everywhere by tomorrow. It’s big on a couple sports talk/call-in radio stations here locally today.
Personally, I wouldn’t care what he did with his money, legally of course. But Albert might not like the idea of paying for it. He might not like the part about him getting sold out (or sold cheap) last time, if the Lozano money trouble aspect is true.
And besides, If you lie with a dog you get fleas.
Supposedly the same material was sent to major news organizations along with Deadspin. Though the others have far more investigative resources, we see who printed it.
The part about him being sold out cheap on his old contract, like all the rest of it, is totally unsubstantiated. I am very familiar with that contract, as I was the one who broke the story that the deal was done back in February 2004. Pujols had just three years of service and received the first $100 million contract ever given to a player that young. Only with the benefit of hindsight is it such a team-friendly deal.
I don’t disagree with anything you have said. But I guess I am just cynical enough to believe that just because the major news outlets can investigate it and haven’t reported it, that it means they can’t substantiate it. It could very well mean that, but it could also mean that even if they can substantiate it, they may choose not to print it because they feel it is not in their best interest to do so. Bottom line and all.
I find it interesting that it has been talked about on local radio and TV but the PD hasn’t touched it with a ten foot pole. No responses on Twitter from Goold, Strauss & the Gang despite repeated questions about it from fans. I still say everyone is waiting with baited breath on Albert. It depends on what he believes and what he does about it. Someone on another blog said there can be no limit on what one person can rationalize or deny to themselves if they are motivated enough.
Regarding the P-D, what can be said without quotes from Lozano or Pujols other than repeating what has been alleged? Why give Deadspin more attention? We now know that Pujols’ agent is apparently sleazy. So what?
I don’ t know Brian, because I don’t know what the PD knows or doesn’t know about it. If they know nothing other than what was printed in Deadspin, then there would be no reason to repeat it.
Lozano has other clients, so there are bound to be some comments to the press from somebody, if not defections. Not sure how that plays into the local angle very short term, if at all, but its a factor as to if the story will have legs, and that may then have a local angle later.
Does Albert know this? He better drop Lozano before they both go straight to hell…….
Long time reader, first time commenter. I would be sincerely honored to win one of the DVD’s. My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be at Game 6 and I want to give her this film for Christmas! Thanks for the opportunity.

The Lozano story I mean, Westy’s post above.
Interested! Go Cards! 12in12
I would really love to win this, I am a huge Cardinal fan and I need this for my collection
Thanks
Truth be known…………everyone is reading here to see if WC jumps on this………. you guy are naive in thinking that many people who read here……don’t read with more understanding than yourselves ………… its in the archives…….. I’ll help a little…….who would compiles such a dossier?????? even the dead spin article alluded to the depth and scope of the interviews that took place…..and also their time frame……………. Lozano walked away from BHSC with impunity for a reason….. as I pointed out at the time…….and I said why…….. 10′s of millions of dollars involved in any litigation contest……… he gained leverage for a reason….. as I pointed out…….. it appears that the old money paid a few professionals to start working on “counter measures” should they be needed…………. but thats all obvious…….. whats interesting is the timing……..see if you can guess why………. the dynamic behind those pictures tells a very interesting story………. wild guess says that BD shut down the PD boys……….. for exactly opposite reasons than most of you probably think……….
A rank amateur would grasp the effect of releasing such a bombshell just before a major holiday weekend, when everybody is out of the office and all attention focussed on family and football. So it was not done that way by accident. Why it was, I don’t know and can’t guess. At least not while I’m cooking turkey and drinking beer.
Do you really think it is a bombshell? That an agent is sleazy?
My thinking is that the purpose of the sleaziness aspect is to add context and believability to:
A) The accusation that the agent abused his duty and responsibility to his client when he worked Albert’s (and whoever else’s) previous contract, looking to relieve his own financial distress, and
B) The claim that he mirepresented himself and his background, and subjected client’s and potetial client’s to behavior which would rightfully call their character into question.
A) Guess you didn’t buy my view of his earlier contract under post #36. Hindsight has altered the view from 2004. That genie is long out of the bottle, anyway.
B) Who cares about the agent’s character? If some player does, he can easily get another agent. No big deal. Happens all the time.
The bottom line is that Pujols has closed the matter (in relevance to us) by reaffirming he is staying with Lozano.
Most agree that Albert has been the best player of the last decade but he appears nowhere in the lists of highest paid, whether annual, career, over the last ten years. Most also agree that his prime is now behind him. In time, we will see how his career earnings compare to others, in total and annual average. That will tell how well his career was managed financially.
Albert will have to decide if the advice he got in 2004 has served him well. He will also have to decide if any level of association with such sordid goings on, and his funding of same, will conflict with his longer term hopes and dreams.
I would only agree that the matter is closed for now.
(And next time he goes to see Lozano, he will have to decide where it is safe to sit. And more importantly, where the Mrs. should sit, as she will likely decide to tag along.)
That is all said with 20-20 hindsight here in 2011, bb.
Here is Albert speaking at the 2010 Winter Warm-Up:
No fair. You can make a cool looking tinted text box.
We will have to see if Albert’s happiness holds up.
The oral photo isn’t bad framing, it has been cropped to remove his eyes, which were looking at the camera no doubt. A testimonial in jest attesting to to the quality of the product. He then takes a picture of her from across the room from his desk. He was likely doing that via phone camera to send to a prospective client or longtime client. Probably had a few drinks. Lozano is a man of the world. Sleazy without question. Someone paid well for those pictures, likely taken on her phone as she was just reporting for work. Thats his old office at BHS. Also the base for all the testimonials. I wonder who sent this stuff in?

Who knows, but Dan may have to retire on the movie rights.
The PD has weighed in finally.
http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/cardinal-beat/pujols-sticking-with-lozano-as-his-agent/article_c68779c8-165d-11e1-823c-001a4bcf6878.html
Albert is standing by his man. Probably will all go away now. Nice try by whomever.
I guess BD didn’t squash it. I guess everyone reading will now just have to wait for Westie to “jump in” again. Of course he doesn’t really need to as it is “all in the archives.” Or maybe we will all just have to “guess why”.
I give them credit for getting to the key answer responsibly. Pujols’ public reaction did not surprise me.
I’m interested!
Please enter me in the contest.
