Cards invite fans to celebrate 11th World Championship Sunday

Fans are invited to help celebrate the St. Louis Cardinals 11th World Championship this Sunday, October 30th with a special celebration presented by Budweiser that will begin with a victory parade through downtown St. Louis and conclude with a special on-field ceremony and fireworks display at Busch Stadium.

The parade will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the Budweiser Clydesdales leading the Procession of Champions in Ford trucks east along Market Street from 18th Street at Union Station to 7th Street south toward Stan Musial Drive and into Baseball Heaven, Busch Stadium.

In addition to the 2011 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, the parade will include Fredbird, Team Fredbird and the Cardinals Rally Squirrel, as well as musical entertainment courtesy of the marching bands of Belleville, Lindbergh, Pattonville and Seckman High Schools.

Tickets to the victory celebration at Busch Stadium will go on sale 2:00 P.M. Saturday at cardinals.com/parade.  Tickets will cost $5, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Cardinals Care, the team’s charitable foundation that helps kids in our community.

Fans will be limited to two tickets per order.  Season Ticket Holders will be able to purchase up to four tickets two hours in advance of the tickets going on sale to the general public.  Fans can learn more about the celebration by visiting cardinals.com/parade. The parade will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest.

KSDK.com has more information on public transportation plans in conjunction with the parade.

What a great season to be a Cards fan. Thanks also to Brian and everybody who contributes comments. Fun time.

I just can’t get over how Freese and Craig just kept poring it on. And the pen. Who were those guys in Cardinal suits with bullets bouncing off them.

Did anybody see if Holliday was around for the post game festivities and interviews?

  2. crdswmn says:

Brian, do you know if FSMW is going to televise the festivities?

Some post about the Cards not having enough “fun.” Apparently TLR likes guys to play smart and calls plays, so he can take the blame for things that go wrong, instead of the players getting blamed.

When are players jumping onto piles because they won it all, I wonder, just how much fun do these jokers need, if this is not enough?

Jumbo, I believe Tony had a team full of guys who fit into what he does best…….and he was masterful in his usage of those guys. Mo also has to be given credit for getting Tony the players that respond to his type of managing.

Unfortunately some guys just don’t agree with the type of control he exercises. Thank goodness Mo got rid of one of them for sure, because I’m not sure the cardinals are celebrating without his departure.

Some things just work out for the best.

TLR was outstanding these last two months or so except for the one game where he fumbled the ball……but as a whole, he gets most of the credit for this team winning this thing imo. But as good as he was down the stretch, we can allow him a bad day or so right? :)

I like it when Cards players appear to have fun after a joust with the Rangers, yet everything is still G rated and the guys are still wearing their uniforms, praise the Lord. Good clean pileups.

We are treated to nonsense at this web site about Albert not being a team player. Albert and Tony are actually so respectful and kindly disposed toward other players that they even once wanted to recruit Barry Bonds to St Louis, before Bud and Mo had to tell them to quiet down.

  5. JumboShrimp says:

It nice to see McGwire help get this team into the winner’s circle.

Mark has been so great for the Cards, through the years!

  6. JumboShrimp says:

Tony LaRussa is the Miracle Worker!

Imagine how well the Cards would do, if Tony and Dave could just straighen out those problems with bullpen phones.

Does anyone know why we start off next season with a one game series at the Marlins?

  8. Kansasbirdman says:

FSMW on my dvr says its boys in the hall and various other programs. I went ahead and recorded a two hour block in case the schedule has it listed incorrectly. I am going out to the treestand for the first time this year and won’t be home to watch the parade live.
