Late Friday afternoon, I joined Ken Miller and Jim Brinson on KXnO FOX Sports Radio 1460 in Des Moines in our weekly series to discuss the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals, “Cardinal Talk.” The focus, of course, is on Game 5 of the NLDS as the Cardinals take on the Phillies Friday night.
Fans in central Iowa can again catch Cardinals radio broadcasts on KXnO throughout the 2011 season as well as my weekly segment, sponsored by WCI Pools and Spas.

Quiet here tonight. Everyone must be clinging tightly to TV sets.
Nailbiting. I wonnt be able to sleep for awhile
Yadier nailed Utley though the pitch was a slow curve. Great job.
Huge play.
Several huge plays. By both teams really. They were both up for the occasion.
It’s great to see how good the team’s top pitchers can be with a real middle infield behind them.
Three more outs!
Agreed. They can make the big plays above even the expected ones
Its nice to beat the team with the best record, in their own park.
102 regular season wins. A real accomplishment defeating them.
Those last 3 regular season wins cost ol Charlie his chance to play in a Wold Series this year. I said it at the time…..the Cards were the hottest team in the ML’s, why would you want to play them?
Man what a series and what a game to finish it on. Carp absolutely dominated last night. WOW!!!
On to the LCS and facing the Brewers no less. And believe me…..this morning, the Brewers know they are the underdogs. The one good thing for the Brewers is that Gallardo pitched last night so he will not see the field for a while.
I am very superstitious and that is why I do not boast too much. But Carp beat Halladay tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE this team and TONY!!!!!!!!!!!
Good call Larry. Tony has been excellent down the stretch in his managerial calls. Absolutely outstanding. Sure the team has played well but Tony deserves a big portion of the credit for this resurgence imo.
Wooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
EFF YEAH!!!!!!
That was about the only way we could win. Holliday is about untouchable after the first, so we had to get a run or two in the first and then pitch a shutout. Oddly enough, TLR threaded this needle.
Amazing games by Furcal and Carpenter.
One down. Two to go.Great job Cards.
