I’m looking forward to tonight’s baseball activities.

Gomes and Roland are interesting here. Votto and Bruce opposite field. Reds have an inferiority complex when playing against St Louis. The whole Walter J’s program has been about this moment.

Tony is likely going to go with his opening day line-up. If Holiday, Pujols and Rasmus can’t hit Harrang…….. They can’t hit. Harrang is their vulnerability. Get him in the stretch, take him over 20 pitches in an inning, its a berry patch…….tall cotton.

  2. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

    CF Colby Rasmus

    RF Ryan Ludwick

    1B Albert Pujols

    LF Matt Holliday

    3B David Freese

    C Yadier Molina

    2B Skip Schumaker

    P Jaime Garcia

    SS Brendan Ryan

    Provocative to say the least…………………..

I like it. Westy’s right, we should murder this guy. Hope some guys work the count. Hope Colby isn’t a one pitch AB to start off the 1st.

  4. Nutlaw says:

I really like this lineup. Stacking one’s better hitters at the top so as to get more ABs makes a lot of sense to me, regardless of their power.

  5. Brian Walton says:

Unfortunately, we had a technical problem and I won’t be able to post this week’s interview. The recording stopped at about 4 minutes in. Sorry.

  6. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

I sure like Garcia. He is a cool costumer in what was a hard luck inning.

  7. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

Ludwick, doing the right thing, takes advantage of the park……smart. Good swing.

  8. blingboy says:

I agree Westy, hittting a homer is the right thing. :)

  9. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

No, taking the ball to right and out of the infield is the right thing. Hitting a HR is the reward for being a good boy.

  10. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

That’s when Dave goes to the mound. Lets see if we can get the double play ball says he.

Entertaining game. Very little change from the Cardinal norm.

  11. blingboy says:

All runs off homers. That’s encouraging. Maybe getting back on track.

Frankie Lights Out was working it. Let them hope, let them become emotionally all in, then crush all their dreams like a bug under his heal. The Reds will be flat from here on out. The Dave visit was masterful, real Freud stuff. Had the Reds believing it was real.

Brendan looked good in the field and less bad at the plate.

  12. WestCoastbirdWatcher says:

What game were you watching BB? Brendan’s bat and helmet throw are going to make him a defensive sub shortly. Pujols stayed back and caught a cookie. That’s positive. His other at bats tell the story.
Holiday can’t deal with the low and away pitch. They mix the under the hands shot to keep him honest. He shows no sign of adjusting. Rasmus finally go one out front. Lucky, he is in deep pucky. One of their best arms is up tomorrow. Lets hope there is change…………..MM was yelling at Ryan when he was at the plate…..not so good.

  13. blingboy says:

I was watching the game we won Westy. Contrast to the ‘productive’ loss the game before.

Ryan looked mad up there not just frustrated and lost, that’s what I meant about him.

I’ve prett much convinced myself Albert has a physical problem, bad back is my guess. I hope its something that can get fixed.
