  1. JumboShrimp says:

The first loss of 2009 owed to Jason Motte trying to overpower Jack Wilson during the 9th inning, resulting in a bases loaded double, sending the faithful home unhappy, on opening day.
This year, it was Gomes hitting Motte further. At least the hometown fans went home happy.

Good news included a homer by Holliday. Pujols, Holliday, and Rasmus is a nice 3/4/5 row.

Brad Penny is fitting in well. If everybody stays healthy, the Cards could enjoy a fine rotation.

  2. JumboShrimp says:

    Opening day in the minors….
    AAA: Henley at cleanup.
AA: Chambers given CF. Catcher Hill can still hit.
    A+: Garcia given SS.
A-: Schneider could be the next Brad Thompson, a positive. Hooker did well too. Conley should hit well at this level and did.
