Mozeliak said earlier this week that a failure to land Holliday may lead the club to fortify its rotation rather than trying to replace their cleanup hitter's production. Mozeliak indicated Wednesday that such an approach is unlikely to involve pursuing the market's top starting pitcher, John Lackey.

Nowhere in the league do you read statements like this.................... Rather than????????
We all know how much salary was freed up. He could just stay quiet........couldn't he. If they don't make an offer to DeRo or Holiday up front, it means they believe the market will collapse. If you recall, they said that last year and even after it did collapse, they took nothing. What a wonderful world we live in.
