Trivia Question #4
In 2009, the Cardinals have three players in the All-Star Game, closer Ryan Franklin, first baseman Albert Pujols and catcher Yadier Molina (pictured). For which All-Star Game did the Cards have the largest number of players selected and what was the number? (The correct year and number of All-Stars are both needed to win. The individual names are not required.)
1935 with 7 players (including reserve list)?
Welcome, princess! Unfortunately, your answer is not the one I am looking for…
In 1959 there were six Cards on the all star roster.
In 1943 there were eight
In 1943 there were eight Cards selected
Oops it was 1959 and 2005 each had six on the roster.
Aaargh. I missed the part about posting once before answering!!! I saw I had to register early. Phooey.
Anyway, in 1943, there were eight Cardinals selected!!
But 1943 had EIGHT players on the roster! WOW!
1964 and it was 7
The persistent Princess wins with her answer of eight Cardinals All-Stars in 1943. Congratulations!
Sorry, maryjay, as you suspected, your initial posts were caught in the queue and did not display until after Princess also answered correctly. Don’t despair as I will post one more question before the evening is over and several more tomorrow prior to the contest concluding.
Princess, please email me to discuss picking up your tickets.
