To further correct the Batavia roster, Alvarez is 22 years old and a switch-hitter. He signed in July 2007, age 20. The Cards assigned him to play in the US and he was on the DL in 2008. Thus he has reached the NYPa league with little pro experience, an unusual path.

Corrigan, Edwards, Castro are each 21 years of age, if birthdates are correct. Goodwin is 22.

I already pointed out to the Batavia folks the error on Ingram's draft year. Not sure why you assume StL created the detailed roster sheet. Not necessarily so. In fact, probably not. As CC pointed out, some of the "Last Played" are also inaccurate, but that isn't a big deal to me.

The Batavia roster, made up by the Cards, slips when indicating Ingram was 09 draft; 9s and 6s are easily interposed. And presumably Ryde-Rod is from Havana.

Last summer, Niko Vasquez hit well at Johnson City. This year he found it hard to thrive at Quad Cities so has been rung adjusted to Batavia. He is not alone in finding it not easy to step up to the Midwest League. In 2007, Beau Riportella had a nice debut at JC, but finds himself at Batavia. Ryde Rodriguez began 2009 at QC and is now at Batavia. D'Marcus Ingram was at QC in 2008 and is at Batavia this year. Its indicative of a stronger system that the Cards can bring along guys more deliberately.

Thanks, Beau. I forgot to mark Kelly on my tracking sheet. 37 is correct, not 36. There are ten confirmed signees not on Batavia (11) or JC (16), so presumably assigned to GCL or being held back for later.

The Cards have announced signing 35 recent draftees. The Batavia roster adds pitchers Corrigan and Lavigne, lifting the total to 37 of 50 (74 percent).

Corrigan has signed, good.

Ahmady was best known as a first baseman in college. Its interesting that the Cards are continuing their recent tradition of attempting to convert some hitters to catcher, as with Hill and Cruz. Yet for Ahmady, this is beginning in rookie league, rather than Palm Beach.
