Following is the most current St. Louis Cardinals system roster matrix, including the 2009 Dominican Summer League Cardinals roster.
I apologize for the delay in posting, but I needed to get an accurate DSL roster and determine the status of several “missing” players.
Hopefully, you have been here to the site previously and know what the Cardinals organization roster matrix is all about. If not, here is quick summary:
At the time of this posting, the St. Louis Cardinals have 280 players under contract. The matrix places each one at his current assigned level in the system as well as by position. It is kept updated throughout the season.
The 33-man DSL opening roster follows, including with one player on the restricted list, Andres Beras. Pitcher Edouard Estalis will only be on the DSL roster if he cannot resolve an outstanding visa issue. Otherwise, he will begin in the Gulf Coast League. In addition, the eight tandem starters are called out in their pairs.
New to the Cardinals organization are pitchers Stalyn Lopez, Luis Mata, Rosalyn Rudecindo, Jefferson Segundo, Michael Santana and Willy Paulino. Biographical player information for each can be found on their Scout.com profile pages.
Just as six were added, so have six departed. They include Marcos Martinez, Santo Franco, Lenny Rosario, Eddy Rivera, Braulio Hiraldo and Bernardo Villar. Martinez was released and Hiraldo has been placed on the restricted list after not reporting.
The other four had background check irregularities on identity and/or age that caused the Cardinals to ask MLB to void their contracts. That means the highly-touted right-handed pitcher Franco did not receive his reported $570,000 bonus after he was announced as the Cards’ top July 2nd mound signing last year. The four are ineligible to sign with any organization over the next year.
The next update of the roster matrix should be coming within the next ten days to two weeks as the players in Extended Spring Training will couple with this month’s draftees to define the 2009 Batavia, Johnson City and Gulf Coast League rosters.
For details behind the codes used in the matrix as well as 2009 transactions to date, check out the earlier versions of the Cardinals organization roster matrix as follows:

The recovered bonus from Franco will enable us to sign someone else. The Cards or MLB are trying to investigate age and identity claims. Such investigations probably did not happen often in the past, so are going to turn up false claims. If Franco were 2 years older than he claimed, a team might want to sign him, but not for as much money. The money and hope for a baseball career give powerful motives to mislead.

RHP Mark Diapoules placed on PB DL retro to 06/05. C Luis De La Cruz from EST to PB noted above.
couple things i wanted to add on…..
kyle mure to have tommy john surgery, daryl jones out with tendinitis, and mark hamilton close to returning: http://www.news-leader.com/article/20090608/BLOGS01/90608058/Springfield+Cardinals++Kyle+Mura+to+have+Tommy+John+surgery
david kopp has shoulder examined: http://www.news-leader.com/article/20090608/BLOGS01/90608068/Cardinals++David+Kopp+has+shoulder+examined
brandon yarbrough starting to feel the sting of the squeeze: http://www.yourdailyjournal.com/pages/full_story?page_label=home&id=2674414-Yarbrough+looking+for+a+chance+to+shine&article-Yarbrough%20looking%20for%20a%20chance%20to%20shine%20=&widget=push&instance=secondary_sports_left_column&open=&
(something mark worrell, jarrett hoffpauir, & brandon buckman have all complained about)
Brian,
In its latest transactions Baseball America lists Shaun Garceau (Palm Beach)
as having been suspended.
Meant to add:
BA also mentions that C Juan Castillo has been reinstated after serving his 50-game suspension.
From the article linked, Yarbrough has a good outlook. He will be a free agent after this season and may find more playing time elsewhere. Most catchers swing right, so he contributes another dimension. Roster slots may be hard to obtain at one AAA team, while another could have a shortage of catchers.
If Diapoules is on the DL, Garceau suspended, and Herron released, its not been an easy season for pitchers who hail from Florida.
Thanks, AR. I noted changes in Castillo and Garceau.
from the same ba article fernando salas was placed on the disabled list.
david kopp went on the d.l., mark hamilton was activated in his spot:

Four other updates today. See above.
Hi Brian, just so you’re aware; Estalis is pitching in the DSL.
